Beach times

After we left Kanyakumari, the tip of India, where two oceans and the Bay of Bengal are joined together, we decided it was once more time for the beach! So we cut Keralas capital city, Tirvandrum, out of our ittinery and headed for beautiful Varkala right away. We did not regret it. Whereas the weather on the road was rather bad (heavy rains followed us since Trichy in Tamil Nadu) Varkala welcomed us with a clear sky and a romantic beach. We made good use of both and spend two wonderful days playing in the waves and walking along the cliffs. At night we dined either with two lovly Austrailian girls or two Mubaikiins, with whom we had rather interesting conversations about the current situation in Mumbai, Indian politics and India in general. When we prepared to leave for Alleppey, the ocean bid us good bye by showing us a school of playing dolphins. There were just there, right in front of us, somersaulting their way northwards. I guess you can imagine how reluctant we got into the taxi that dropped us at the next busstop. However, thats just the thing about travelling...you leave something good behind just to find something just as good or even better...or wait... maybe that is just what it is with life???
